The BMW S55B30 3.0L turbo engine is equipped with a water/air charge air cooling system. The charge air is cooled by a water-cooled intercooler. The water is cooled by a radiator in the front.

The standard intercooler on the S55 engine is made of plastic and equipped with a bar & plate network. The efficiency is to be estimated therefore for performance-increased vehicles rather conservatively. In addition, there are even already burst boxes.

BAR-TEK upgrade intercooler fits plug & play. Set here on aluminum and a high-quality Tube & Fin net. In addition, this intercooler has an anti-corrosion coating with heat conduction properties, rather than a simple powder coat.
